Play Day

Saturday July 13th
10:00 am to 1:00 pm or later

Tilden Park
East Bay Regional Parks in the Berkeley Hills
at the Meadows picnic grounds.

Play day is coming on July 13th, to the Meadows Picnic Area at East Bay Regional Park from 10:00 to 2:00, although everyone is welcome to stay until 6:00 pm. For those of us who have been suffering from the heat, the weather in the Berkeley hills is usually a very pleasant 70°. The Meadows picnic area is pretty much fox tail free, has super convenient bathrooms (no hill to climb!) and is adjacent to a meadow for those who enjoy off leash fetch games. If you know anyone who would like to join the club, this is a super opportunity for them to come meet our Border Terrier family and fulfill the activity attendance requirement.

For our Potluck:  A-L Bring a Dessert           M-Z Bring a Side Dish or Salad
As usual, the club will provide polish dogs and bottled water.

The location on Central Park Drive is much easier to find because of its proximity to the Merry Go Round. The Meadows Picnic Area sign is on the side of the road where there is street side parking-there is a nice wide trail that slopes down to the picnic area. A somewhat longer walk, but totally flat, is accessed from the Loop Road Parking Lot on Lone Oak Road. Once you park in the lot, just head across the Meadow.

If you are bringing xpens or something similar it would be very handy to have a wagon or a cart for transporting. Without wheels your easiest bet is the trail coming down the hill.

To get to the Meadows picnic grounds, try putting it in your GPS (Google maps seems to work) follow the signs for the Little Farm, but take a right at the fork. It is on the right side of the parking lot before the Lone Oak trail entrance .
